Christian Legal Aid of Southeast Michigan

Our Story: Christian Legal Aid of Southeast Michigan (CLASM) comprises a network of volunteer attorneys and dedicated individuals. Established in 2002, our organization has been offering pro bono legal services to economically disadvantaged residents through our clinics in Detroit and Pontiac as well as phone consultations. We are a Christian-based organization, and serve all clients irrespective of their religious beliefs. We operate exclusively on private donations without any governmental financial support.

Our Mission: Our objective is to empower and support Christian legal professionals and advocates in delivering legal counsel to the impoverished, as well as offering spiritual guidance and prayer, including the presentation of the Gospel to those who express interest.

Our Vision: We are committed to promoting justice for the underprivileged and advancing the Gospel in Southeast Michigan through both legal and spiritual counsel.

Our Doctrine: We believe in the lordship of Jesus Christ, the absolute truth of the entire Bible, and God’s eternal plan for every believer, which encompasses forgiveness and reconciliation with God.

Our Services: We provide basic legal advice free of charge to individuals in Southeast Michigan, as resources and volunteer availability permit. We do not engage in full legal representation. Any extended services require a separate agreement with the contributing attorney and are contingent upon their discretion. Our advisory capabilities do not extend to immigration or criminal law issues.

We offer our legal services to all individuals in need, without discrimination based on faith or any other distinctions.
